Delays, Delays
Here we sit enjoying the flowers in our backyard. Today was the day we were supposed to leave for carabelle Florida to start our journey to the Keys. But the first thing you learn in sailing and boating is you are a slave to the weather. The week after Christmas has been great for crossing the Gulf however the first week of the new year will have 2 to 4 feet Seas all week. Our boat will handle this with no problem but I'm not sure our bodies will 10 to 12 hour Cruise being beat every time you hit a wave at 6 second intervals it is very tiring. As Audrey said  "this is a fun trip so let's started out that way". We are delaying the start till the 10th of January when we will go to Carabelle then take a more southerly route to Tarpon Springs. This will only delay us the length of time it takes us to get a weather window after the 10th.
Oh well we still have flowers blooming at home so it's not like we're leaving snow.
Happy New Year's to everyone!!!

Great Christmas.  Both girls are here.  They both bought their airline tickets to Marathon today.  Guess they now think this trip is happening.
I am beginning to watch the weather for our Crossing of the Gulf of Mexico from Carrabelle Florida to the West Coast of Florida and Crystal River. We will be out of sight of land for 10+ hours. We need pretty good weather to keep from beating ourselves up as we go across.  Dry weather with good visability would be nice.  Not to worried about temperature.

Getting ready to go to the keys.
Getting excited about starting our trip to Marathon Keys. We're only a little over a week away from the first leg of the trip, Carrabelle to Crystal River. It's hard to think of all the things you'll need over the next two months.
